Multiple Union County high schools were ranked on Niche’s 2020 Best Public High Schools list. Schools from Scotch Plains, Westfield and Summit can be found on this year’s rankings. These rankings are based on analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and rankings.

Overview: This engineering-based specialized career academy emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving and leadership skills through a rigorous project-based curriculum. The goal is to provide students with the latest technological and academic resources needed to succeed in the modern world.

#8 Academy for Allied Health Sciences – Scotch Plains

Overview: As a four-year secondary learning community, the academy aims to develop confident, well-rounded students through challenging academic experiences, with exposure to various health career skills and occupations. #56 New Providence High School– New Providence 

Overview: The New Providence School District has launched its 2019-2020 Character Education Initiative “Listen, Lift, Lead”. The district-wide Character Education Kick-Off was designed to coordinate with the National Week of Respect. Character Education lessons are incorporated into the curriculum in all schools in the district, and unite the students in a common theme focusing on messages of kindness, respect, and empathy for others.
